The Rajya Sabha (Upper House of Parliament) have cleared The Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill of 2021 by voice vote on 8th February 2021.

- Reorganisation Amendment bill seeks to replace the ordinance to merge the J&K cadre and the Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre of civil services officer.
- Recently bill was introduced in the Rajya Sabha.
- Reorganisation Amendment bill will also increase the strength of officers in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir and Leh.
This Bill has been passed in the line of the enactment of the Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Act of 2019 in the Jammu & Kashmir after revocation of the Article 370 of the constitution in the region. The act of 2019 had reconstituted the State of Jammu & Kashmir into two UT namely, the J&K and Ladakh, on 31st October 2019. It has reconstituted that area of the Jammu & Kashmir that has always been a part of the larger region of Kashmir which is the disputed between India, Pakistan, and China
