According to reports Indian Railway and BHEL ( Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited) collaboration to set up a 1.7 Megawatt solar power plant at Bina, City of Madhya Pradesh. Solar Power Generation project involves the adoption of innovative technology for converting Direct Current to single-phase Alternating Current for feeding directly to Railway’s overhead traction system.
The solar power plant has been established near the Bina Traction Sub Station (TSS).
Benefits of the Project
It can produce approximately 25 lakh units of energy every year and will save around ₹1.37 crore for Indian Railways yearly. The project was undertaken by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited under its Corporate social responsibility scheme.
