Iran’s Armed force The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has been announced that it will set up its lifelong military base in the Indian ocean by March 2021. The proclamation was made by Alireza Tangsiri (Iranian military officer) on June 23 2020. Alireza Tangsiri (Iranian military officer) is the current commander of Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Alireza Tangsiri Iranian Navy Commander well informed that the move of setting up a lifelong Base in the Indian Ocean is as per the instructions by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Supreme Leader of Iran. He further added that the move of setting up a lifelong presence far away from the nation in the waters was taken as a result of repeated harassment faced by Iranian Fishermen in the Indian ocean from pirates and even encroachments made by foreign vessels in the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Oman.

Armed force The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was established on the order of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini (1st Supreme Leader of Iran). It is a branch of the Iranian Armed Forces. It was founded on 22nd April 1979 after the Iranian Revolution.
At present, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is designated as a terrorist organization by the United States of America, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain.
