Under Indo-French friendship, India was invited to join French Naval Exercise La Pérouse. The Naval Exercise will be conducted in the Bay of Bengal this month. It is the first French naval exercise that Indian Navy will be a part of. In the La Pérouse exercise QUAD countries will be also participate Japan, Australia, and the United States of America. As per the French Embassy statement, two French Navy ships, the Surcouf and the Tonnerre made a port call in Kochi from March 30 to April 1. They will next sail to Bay of Bengal to participate in the Naval exercise.
- La Perouse French naval exercise will be held from 5 to 7 April.
- Quad countries and France jointly conduct this exercise.
- From French side The Surcouf (French cruiser submarine) and the Tonnerre (amphibious assault helicopter carrier) will be participate in La Perouse.
- The 1st edition of La Perouse was held in 2019 with France, the United States of America, Australia and Japan
