Shri Krishna Mandir Foundation Stone (first Hindu Temple) in Islamabad capital city in Pakistan’s was laid. The first Hindu temple is the first to be constructed in Islamabad since the Independence of Pakistan.

The first Hindu temple will be devoted to Lord Krishna. The name of the temple will be Shri Krishna Mandir. The name of the temple was decided by the Islamabad Hindu Panchayat (Pakistan). The Shri Krishna Mandir will come up in a 20,000 sq ft plot at the capital’s H-9 area of Islamabad.

This plot was allotted in January 2017 to the Islamabad Hindu Panchayat by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Islamabad. CDA allotted the plot for the construction of Hindu temple following the orders from Pakistan’s National Commission for Human Rights Pakistan (NCHRP). The foundation stone ceremony was attended by the Pakistan’s Parliamentary Secretary on Human Rights Lal Chand Malhi.

Cost of Temple

The construction of the temple will bear cost Rs 10 crore.  The cost will be borne by Pir Noorul Haq Qadri the Pakistan Government as per their Religious Affairs Minister.
