On 24 June 2020 Jitendra Singh (Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region I/C) had inaugurated Devika and Puneja bridge constructed by Border Roads Organisation (BRO). Devika and Puneja bridge inaugurated Through the virtual platform due to Covid-19 Pandemic .
The Devika bridge is located at Udhampur of Jammu & Kashmir. Built under the cost of Rs 75 lakhs, bridge has been completed by Border Roads Organisation (BRO) within 15 months. Devika bridge fulfilled 70-year-old demand of the locals citizens of Udhampur (Jammu & Kashmir). Devika bridge impotant for Military because Headquarters of the Indian Army Northern Command is situated at Udhampur (Jammu & Kashmir). Devika bridge also helpfull for solving traffic issues, the bridge will provide a smooth passage for the vehicles and convoys of the Indian army. The bridge is 10 meters long.
The Puneja bridge is located in Bhaderwah town in Doda district of Jammu & Kashmir. Puneja Bridge was constructed under 36 months by Border Roads Organisation (BRO). The cost of constructing the Puneja bridge was under Rs 4 crore. The bridge is 50 meters long.
Jitendra Singh addressed Doda is the only district of Jammu & Kashmir in the country where not one but 3 big tunnels are being built.
