Education Board CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) has been collaborates a new Artificial Intelligence course for class 11 and class 12 in the current academic year (2020-2021). The timetable was developed in collaboration with International Business Machines Corporation. The IBM Artificial Intelligence timetable is a part of CBSE’s Social Empowerment through Work Education and Action (SEWA) program.
Points to Note
This timetable will be launched in across Delhi-NCR, Karnataka, Orissa, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, MP, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu Telangana, UP and West Bengal around 200 schools. The Artificial Intelligence timetable was co-developed by the Macquarie University of Australia and Learning Links Foundation and 1M1B of India to fulfil the requirements of Central Board of Secondary Education.
About IBM AI timetable
- The IBM Artificial Intelligence timetable is structured around a course framework for students consisting of base strands of knowledge (basics, history, applications), skills (design thinking, computational thinking, data fluency, critical thinking) and values (ethical decision making, bias) in AI.
- The International Business Machines Corporation Artificial Intelligence timetable was launched in collaboration with Central Board of Secondary Education in September 2019 with an aim to impart AI skills to 5000 Grade XI students and 1000 teachers across India. Following the program launch, a series of Principal Orientation and Teacher Training sessions were conducted between September 2019 and June 2020.
- As part of the partnership between International Business Machines Corporation and Central Board of Secondary Education for the Artificial Intelligence timetable, training (online and classroom) for over 5000 students were conducted resulting in a cumulative 408 hours of training workshops.
