Kazi Anik Islam, Bangladeshi cricketer, has been sanction a two year ban by the national cricket board of Bangladesh for failing a dope test in 2018. Anik, who was Bangladesh’s leading wicket-taker in the 2018 U-19 World Cup, tested +ve for Methamphetamine (recreational drug), a prohibited substance, during a National Cricket League game (domestic first class cricket competition in Bangladesh) in 2018.

The 21 year old Bowler admitted to the offence. His 2 year ban began on 8 February last year.

Kazi made his debut in Twenty20 debut for Rajshahi Kings on November 29 2017 in the 2017–18 Bangladesh Premier League. Kazi was named in Bangladesh’s squad for the 2018 U-19 Cricket World Cup.
