A new fish species called Schizothorax sikusirumensis has been discovered in Arunachal Pradesh (India).
The name of the species has been derived from the names of the rivers where the fish was found. They are River Sirum and River Siku in India.
The Schizothorax fish is found in western and southern China, Centra and Southern Asia. They are mainly found in lakes, streams, rivers and highland. There are more than 65 species that are recognized under this genus.
Fresh water fish
The Fresh water fish are those that spend their life in water that has salinity less than 1.05%. Around 41.24% of the fishes known are fresh water fishes. The freshwater fishes are further classified as cold water, warm water and cool water fishes.
Salt water fish
