On 26 November India, is celebrated as National Milk Day. The day celebrated since 2014, to commemorate the birthday of the father of India’s White Revolution, Dr Verghese KurienDr Verghese Kurien also known as Milkman of India. The day was fixed by all the dairy majors of the country including the National Dairy Development Board, the Indian Dairy Association, along with 22 state-level milk federations.

The significance of the Day lies in the fact that this day celebrates the importance of milk in a person’s life. The Indian Dairy Association, in 2014, took the initiative to celebrate this day for the first time.
