Northern Irish politician, John Hume KCSG passed away at 83. In 1998, Hume was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, along with William David Trimble, for his role in ending the conflict in Northern Ireland. In 1970, Hume was a founding member of the Social Democratic and Labour Party and led the party from 1979 until 2001.
