finance institution NABARD has launched development projects in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The projects worth 44 lakhs aims to strengthen the concept of Atmanirbhar Bharat through rural entrepreneurship. Under this project, there would be focus on the formation and skill development of Self Help Groups to promote rural entrepreneurship at micro level.

The projects have been launched to develop Self Help Groups and also to help in skill development of Self-Help Groups in the territory. Around 385 village level programmes are to be conducted and provide training to leaders of newly formed Self Help Groups with an aid of Rs 10 lakhs.

Under the Atmanirbhar Bharat, women attached to Self Help Groups (SHGs) are to be trained for Mushroom Cultivation and Bamboo handicrafts.

In order to achieve Atma Nirbhar Bharat, under the initiative, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development is to organize “Rural Haats” in Gram Panchayats.
