Why was Cochin Port selected for the hub?
The Cochin Port is best positioned South Indian port in terms of proximity to international sea routes. It also has connectivity to the back of beyond markets of India. The Cochin Port has infrastructure to manage large ships. Capacity of Cochin Port is 1 Million TEU’s.
Cochin Port opened since 11 February 2011. Port also have two Rail Tracks.
