On 24th June 2020 India has pledged to contribute USD 10 million to the United Nations Relief and Works (UNRWA) Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East . The amount would be contributed over the next two years. The contribution of USD 10 million would be an additional amount over and above USD 5 million contribution announced for year 2020.

Minister of State for External Affairs Vellamvelly Muraleedharan said a medical shipment to Palestine would be sent to aid its fight against Covid, in addition to developmental assistance.

India has also pledged to donate life savings drugs to Palestine (country in Asia) as a support to in combatting the pandemic. The contribution of $ 10 million was announced by the government of Indian during the virtual Ministerial Pledging Conference for United Nations Relief and Works (UNRWA). In the conference, India was represented by Minister of State for External Affairs Vellamvelly Muraleedharan.
