UN Food and Agriculture Organization released Global Forest Resources Assessment report 2020. According to the FRS report, India stand on 3rd ranked among top 10 nations.
The United Nations FAO published the report after five years. The report assesses status and trends of the world’s forest resources.
Top 10 nations have gained forest area between in single Decade (2010 and 2020)
China stand on first position, Australia at second, After Australia, India at third, Chile, Vietnam , Turkey, United States, France, Italy, Romania at 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th postion.

The Forest Resources Assessment says that India cover to 2% forest area worldwide. Between 2010-2020, India consider to 0.38% of yearly gain in forest cover. This is around 266,000 hectares (657300 Acres) of forest cover yearly.
